3 Questions to Ask Before Prepping for #GivingTuesday

3 Questions to Ask Before Prepping for #GivingTuesday

The leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler and big year-end milestones are approaching. This can only mean one thing: fall is here! For many non-profit organizations, the fall is a critical giving season that holds a lot of financial anticipation. In order to start the season on the right foot, it’s important to plan ahead for one of the biggest year-end fundraising campaigns… #GivingTuesday.

We’ve compiled the three most critical questions you can ask yourself now in preparation for a successful season of giving.

1. Is our donor base current and well-established?

While #GivingTuesday is a great opportunity to reach out to new donors, it’s also important to make sure that your current donor base is in the loop and involved. By knowing exactly who your current donors are, you can start the season before it even begins with a strong donor base and a clear plan.

2. Do we have any current major campaigns that we can incorporate with #GivingTuesday?

Think ahead! If you know your big anniversary event is coming up or your annual holiday campaign is approaching, then utilize #GivingTuesday as a way to boost your usual fundraising efforts. By looking at the calendar now, you can help maximize your overall giving by intertwining it with one of the biggest national days of giving. It’s a win-win!

3. Is there anyone we can partner with this #GivingTuesday?

Partnerships are important. Really important. (Don’t believe us? Read this!) And because #GivingTuesday is all about coming together and giving back, it’s the perfect opportunity to partner with other businesses or nonprofits to amplify your efforts. Think through organizations you’d want to partner with NOW to make your year-end run as smoothly as possible.
